These terms govern your use of the Gita Mode iOS application ("the app"), operated by Kushal Mittal ("we"). By using the app you agree to them.
The service
Gita Mode is a screen-time wellness app: it lets you voluntarily pause chosen apps behind a short devotional ritual built around the Bhagavad Gita. You choose which apps to block, when, and for how long. You can disable blocking at any time.
Subscription
- The app requires an active subscription: yearly (with a 7-day free trial) or weekly. Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
- Subscriptions are billed and auto-renewed through your Apple ID. Cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; access continues until the period ends.
- Trials convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms.
Spiritual content
Shloka text is from the public-domain Bhagavad Gita. Translations, reflections, and generated prayers are offered in good faith as devotional aids, not as authoritative religious scholarship, and not as a substitute for professional advice of any kind — including mental-health care. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app or its services, and don't use the prayer service to generate content unrelated to its purpose.
Screen-time features
App blocking relies on Apple's Screen Time framework and its permissions. Apple's platform rules and OS behavior may affect blocking; we don't guarantee that blocking is impossible to bypass — it is a tool for your own intention, not a parental-control or security product.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before a claim.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
